Immigration information affects people's lives, finances, and legal status. We hold our content to the following standards.
Primary sources first
Facts such as fees, eligibility rules, income thresholds, points, quotas, and processing times come from official sources: USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, the Federal Register, IRCC and Canada.ca, GOV.UK and Home Office statements of changes, and the Australian Department of Home Affairs. News coverage is used only for context, never as the sole source for a rule. Every article lists its sources.
News reports
Our news desk reports official announcements, rule changes, and court rulings that affect people moving permanently. Every report links the official announcement first, lists key facts, and states the status of the change. When the situation moves (a rule takes effect, a court blocks it, a consultation closes) we update the report and its "Updated" date rather than publishing a contradictory new story.
How we use technology
We use software to monitor official sources and AI tools to help research and draft. Every published fact is checked against the official source it cites before publication, and editors are responsible for everything we publish.
Dates and status
We date-stamp time-sensitive facts and say whether a change is in effect, announced, proposed, or blocked by a court. Each article shows the date it was last updated.
Reviews and updates
We review articles when a government announces a relevant change, and cornerstone guides at least every quarter. Policy-update posts may be superseded; when that happens we update the post or link to the newer one.
No invented experience
We do not fabricate case studies, testimonials, quotes, or statistics. Community stories are clearly labelled as personal experiences and are not a guarantee of any outcome.
Independence
We do not accept payment for favourable coverage of any law firm, consultant, school, or service. If we ever publish sponsored or affiliate content, it will be clearly labelled.
Corrections
Found an error or an outdated fact? Email [email protected] or post in the community discussions with a link to the official source. We correct confirmed errors promptly and update the article date.
